Just moved here and tried this place out. I sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly :) I didn't eat there but loved the band! I stayed longer then i wanted to and enjoyed every minute of it.

Devin is awesome! He cooked our food to perfection. It was delicious and we loved it. The cook made shrimp and grits as well as a chicken bacon ranch flatbread! All of it was perfectly cooked and tasted super fresh! My girlfriend and I literally asked to speak with the chef just so we could tell him how well his food was! We go to many different local restuarants to try the orange park/jacksonville cuisine and we love writing reviews on the different restaurants, and Taps is definitely top 10 in our rankings. If you're looking for a good bar with a great selection of food, check Taps! Also, we want to give a shoutout to the bartender Brittany, who gave us great drink recommendations, and she was a hoot! Football season is coming up guys, this is a place to be!

I really love this place, they have great food, beer and great atmosphere. I have to say, though they may have great beers I usually find they are out of a lot when we are there which may just be bad timing. Tuesday are trivia night which is peobably one of the most entertaining Trivia spots I've attended, Wednesday's is ladies night which I feel can be worked on since it seems dead a lot, Thursday's trivia again but it's a different host who I'm not fond of. Friday / Saturday's I think they have live bands which are usually pretty good. Overall if you. Haven't been highly suggest checking it out.

Medium well burger is not pink in the middle...twice! And the fries coming back tasted like they were kept under the hot light. Thank God they had the St. Louis Cardinals on the closest TV or it would be a 1 star!

First of all, it's refreshing to have a bar on the island. For nights when I want to meet someone for a drink out but not drive 30 minutes to Jax, it's a great option. I had a frozen piña colada which was delicious, though a bit pricey (I was a bit disappointed at the lack of happy hour specials on a Saturday night). Next I had an angry orchard cider which is good as always. The bar has a great selection of beverages. However, my food was subpar. I ordered the quesadilla but it lacked enough cheese, and I consider this an unforgivable sin! It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. My waitress seemed to be out of it. She took a long time and tried to make jokes with me that made no sense- like saying "no, because you asked" when I asked for a refill on water. I kind of became irritated at her incessant joking which made no sense to me or my company. I had a fun night out at Taps due to the good drinks and my excellent company. It's nice if you want to stay local and still enjoy a drink. If you're looking for exquisite food or something beyond a typical sports bar, move along.

Great menu with and food made with fresh ingredients not frozen bar food. Awesome beer selection. Good atmosphere and staff.

Terrible service! It doesn't take much energy to turn a channel (the Duke game was over before he got bk to it... #coach K 1000), get a beer (after it being held hostage by a bug for 15 mins) the 1st one had a floating object in it , and order food (after he'd given the menu 15 mins prior). Look, I understand that a Sunday afternoon isn't favored by bartenders but good god, if that is your job plz just do it. Maybe I shouldn't come on a Sunday expecting to watch sport history being made at a sports bar but I guess a girl can dream. Smfh! Food was good tho! That's the only thing that saved this review from giving my not a thumbs up but a middle finger

Something has happened between March 30th and last week...new management, a new cook and new servers! Lately when someone mentions Taps I mention something else...last week I got roped into Taps because everyone else was already there for happy hour and I was on my way home from work. What a HUGE difference and I am a FAN AGAIN!! First off let me say that it may have had a lot to do with our server Corey. What a great guy and what exceptional service. So let's talk about service: Before any of our glasses could be empty Corey was at our table asking if we'd like another. Usually on happy hour nights a glass of wine is skimpy but not these pours. We asked about a card on the table that indicated that they now had a loyalty program. He brought us the sign up sheets and a pen and applied a discount right there and then! Next I picked his brain about the changes... Now let's talk about food: For the first time in many many months the orders were perfect, hot and delicious. Nothing over cooked, nothing under cooked, full of flavor, hot and not one thing wrong with the order! I asked the cook/chef's name and was happy to hear a name other than the one that used to be in kitchen. So all in all on this visit Tap's is back in our good graces...let's keep our fingers crossed that they keep their consistency and we will once again bring in the groups for happy hours, weekend gatherings and visiting out of town friends and family!

Miserable. This place needs to decide if they are a concert hall, bar or a restaurant. If they have a live band and you want to have dinner and beers with a few friends, go someplace else. At the risk of sounding like a cranky old man the band is too loud. Unless they can get the live music under control, avoid this place.
(2)Dave J.
Service wasn't bad, but the wide open setup made it feel like we were sitting right in front of the band when we were on the other side of the restaurant. Waaaay too loud. If you're into loud on the weekends this is you place.

I love this place. This is our go to. I read other reviews, and I can agree with the service if you are at a table...never really had good quick service at a table. We always sit at the bar...always. Two times at tables were enough....the bar is great. bar staff is great. Food is great. I cannot say enough how relaxing it is. Yes this is an older crowd, but the place gets packed. Regular live music, trivia online, some nights live trivia. What is not to like? If their table servers were prompt, I would consider sitting at a table again...but when I go to a beer bar, I want beer and quickly! Nuff said. Kids? It is a bar and grill. Think about it! I suggest do not bring them. Most people do not, but I am sure they may be over at the tables not seen.

We had martini's they were fantastic. I had the key lime pie and my husband had a dirty martini.

We have Taps back in California and I can say this Florida model can't hold a candle to it. We saw our server twice. Once to place out order and once to bring us a refill on out iced teas that we didn't even ask for. Drop and run. Presentation gets a big fat zero. Food was ok, slapped together with no garnish on the plate. Iced teas brought sans a straw, we had to ask for that. Some other person brought our food out. ... Did anyone check back to see if it was ok??? NO My husbands bun was burnt and burger overdone. My shrimp tacos had approximately 2 shrimp in each one and a smigg of cilantro slaw on a flour tortilla. The light Thai chili sauce was heavy and hotter then hot. So no, this will not be a place we frequent when we move here. :(

Place is super good if you are looking for a good casual atmosphere. Service isn't always that great but it really depends on the waitress you get. The food always makes up for the service though!! We love their nachos and wings.

Very slow service. My wife and I are here now. We ordered our food with our drink order it's currently 40 mins and counting. Food showed up at 50 mins. Regular cheeseburger and a house salad with chicken. It's a shame because the food is good. I've eaten here probably 10 times and have consistently had service issues.

We just moved to Fleming Island from Nevada, read the reviews and thought we would give Taps a try. The last review stated Taps was WAY TO LOUD. I called first and asked the girl how loud the restaurant was currently, since it was a Sunday and there maybe a football crowd. She assured me it was quite, how wrong she was! I had my wife, her Mother and all of our children. We could here the music from our closed up car, but we hoped it was just outside. We were wrong! Opened the door and could not communicate with each other due to the loud music. What the heck is wrong with the owners??? Fleming Island is a bedroom community not a nightclub. Will NOT RETURN!! Good luck staying open.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. This is a perfect hangout for Superbowl or Sports events that you want to watch. Appetizer- We had the Fried Shrimp and it was amazing! Dinner- I had the burger and it was not good at all. The meat tasted dry and very seasonless. My BF had the Prime Rib. There was so much fat on it! Yuck! Let's just say it's really sad I've had better prime rib in lower end restaurants and I felt shame even bringing it home to my boxers. The food even came out semi cool and it was not a full house at all. We waited 30 minutes for it so I wonder if it was left sitting in the window. I can see the potential but the cook staff that night was really a disappointment.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Waited on the waitress to order and to get our food. I wonder if the food is good.

To start off with, if this bar didn't have such a good selection of beer, it would have received a much lower rating. The thing that kills this place is the service. It's beyond terrible. The bartenders show such a disdain for the customer and completely ignore anybody sitting at the bar. Maybe they're understaffed, I don't know, but I do know this place needs some help.

I came here to have drinks with friends and showed the bartender my VALID, government issued out of state license. The bartender looked at it a lot longer than necessary to check a birthdate. When I asked him what the problem was, he said there wasn't any problem. He then walked away with my ID for 5 minutes without telling me why he needed to walk away it. The manager or owner then came out to tell me that he wasn't comfortable accepting it because my license didn't look like the licenses for my state that were shown in some reference book he had that showed IDs from every state. I'm not sure of the legitimacy of the book they were using or what organization it was issued from, but it clearly isn't helping them conduct business properly. This kind of service is completely unacceptable from a business whose job is to check IDs everyday to serve alcohol. They need to reevaluate how they do business if they are putting customers through this kind of BS. I will never go into this restaurant again. Eventually I showed another form of ID I had and I was served. After that was sorted out, the bartender was very kind and attentive to my group, so I give some points for that.

My wife and I have eaten at this TAPS many times and this time was a regrettable BAD DINING experience. My wife got the fish and chips and there was standing OIL in the bottom of the basket and the Parmesan fries were drenched in oil. I got the spicy shrimp tacos and the taco shell was over toasted and burned. My side item was incorrect. We sent my wife's fish and chips back and the second presentation was oily as well. The couple that were dining next to us sent both of their selections back as well. The chef/cook's skills were lacking and the waitress's was feeling the dissatisfaction of the dinners and to top it off there were probably 10 people total that were dining the rest were at the bar.....we regretted very much our choice of TAPS that night and based on the very poor quality of the food and the absent minded waitress I will look far and wide for any other dining venue before I return to TAPS of Fleming Island.

Would give it a zero if I could. Came in for lunch and my first time here. About 8 other people only in the place. Bartender was more concerned chatting up the waitresses waiting to come on duty or the 4 regulars than taking care of in and out customers. Food was luke warm at best and soooo disgustingly salty. Beer was good but for $3.50 a pint I will go somewhere else with better service, food, and prices. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK HERE! Manager/owner need a cold dose of reality. If your looking for overpriced food and beer then come on in. The place has potential to be a rock star! but falls short of a polka band.

This is an American style beer pub with 54 beers on tap. If you are into craft beers I must advise you that many of these 54 beers are your average industrial brews. I was pleasantly suprised at how knowledgeable our wailtress was about beers and she suggested something I really enjoyed. She said the staff samples what is available which is something that more pubs should do. My favorite item on the menu is the banging shrimp. The menu is limited as to what I enjoy and these shrimp are good. I realize opening a resturant is very expensive but the interior design of this place leaves a lot to be desired. All in all I am very glad Fleming Island now has this as an option.

Nice looking place. Very nice owner. Badly managed wait staff resulting in long waits when not all that busy and lost orders. Food is inconsistent when you can get it ~ best to stick with simple and fried. Hope they turn it around, as its currently a pale replica of places like kickbacks.
(2)Megan C.
Food was ok.. Nothing special. Service was pretty slow. I did like that you could sample as many beers as you like. Kinda over priced

Taps is an American Beer Pub that has 54 beers on tap. The majority of beers on tap are the usual InBev, Miller, and Coors selections. They have a chalkboard of the more exotic beer choices. I've yet to be excited about any of the beers, but I've enjoyed trying the samples. I've been twice and both times the service was very friendly and attentive. I've had the fish and chips both times. The fish was fresh, but not amazing. I had one of the banging shrimp and it was delicious. My biggest disappointment is the setup of the restaurant. It just is blah! I'm glad that Fleming Island has another non-chain dining option.

I'm so surprised to hear the bad reviews! My daughter and I have been here three times and have yet to be disappointed. All three times the servers we had were very attentive and courteous and the food was fine. This has actually become one of our favorite places to eat at.

Ate here on 13 Oct to watch a game and have dinner. Excellent selction of beers on tap. Of three entree, two were good, one was so-so. The brownie desert was excellent. This place also has a hot sauce they call "Chernobyl". It will get your attention In general I thought the portions were small for the price you paid, especially for the appitizer. Venu was great for watching a sporting event - there must be 15 TV's in this place. One thing I thought was interesting was that one of the tables with the tap right at it was reserved. When the group came in, nobody used the tap at the table; they all ordered beer from the bar. Seemed strange you would save this table for a group that would not use it for what it was intended.

I have been going to Taps since it opened and have had mostly positive experiences until today. When we walked in we asked to sit at a table away from the Golden Tee machine to watch the Derby. The hostess took us to the table closest to the machine, we asked to sit at another table and she gave attitude and could be seen complaining to our waitress. We didn't feel like eating spit on or worse food so we left. The GM tried to give us a gift card but the damage was done. We may go back if the staff improves. The food isn't that great any way.Try Kickbacks or Brewers for better beer and service.

Went for 1st visit and it was decent. I had the Prime rib sliders and wife had a buger. Both were cooked properly and had good taste. Sat at bar and service was good and she brought a cold glasss with each draft beer. Went to watch a game and sound was a little low on volume but lots of Tv's. Enjoyed the visit and will return.

Came here with friends a couple of times.. I've had great service both times. Great selection of beer.. The bangin shrimp are pretty good as well! Lots of TV's for watching football. Ate lots of appetizers, but no entrées. Food reviews to follow.... beer reviews, GREAT!
